When we were interviewing contractors to partner with us on this historic renovation, several of them suggested we remove and replace the tongue and groove wainscoting with sheetrock. From a demolition and cost perspective, it was an easy recommendation. In the end, we selected a contractor that wanted to preserve all the unique characteristics of this 85-year-old home while adding some new ones too. These unique features make this historic Craftsman bungalow charming in its own way.
